Just for you, we’ve compiled a list of the questions our clients ask us most often. Get in touch if there’s anything else you need to know!

How much do you charge?

The cost of the band varies depending on a number of factors. Please contact us with the details of your event and we will be happy to give you a quote.

How do i pay?

A 25% non-refundable deposit is required to secure your booking, and the remaining balance is due 30 days before the event via electronic bank transfer.

Are there any circumstances under which the band might cancel?

Under normal circumstances, no. If for any reason a band member was unavailable, we have a large pool of excellent ‘dep’ musicians who can step in at any time. For this reason, the line up of The Rhythm Stars may alter for your event.

How far can you travel?

We are happy to travel anywhere in the UK, or the world! However, please be aware the distance we need to travel will affect the price of the band. Travel is included within 100 miles of our home in Surrey.

How long do you take to set up?

We will need 60 minutes to unload, set up and do a sound check before we perform. At weddings, we recommend scheduling our set up immediately after the speeches and wedding breakfast have finished, before the evening guests arrive.

How much space does the band need?

The 4-piece band needs a 3 x 4 metre space (3 x 5 for the 5-piece) with at least 2 mains power sockets.We also request a private (preferably lockable) changing area with a power supply, and 3 parking spaces as close to the venue as possible.

WHAT'S THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE 4 AND 5-PIECE BAND?

Our 4-piece line-up includes female vocals, male vocals/guitar, bass/backing vocals and drums/backing vocals, and is absolutely fantastic! The addition of our brilliant keys player means a bigger, much fuller sound complete with piano and synth parts. It also means we can play a whole lot more material for you including songs like We Found Love - Rihanna, September - Earth, Wind & Fire, Wake Me Up - Avicci, I Wanna Dance With Somebody - Whitney Houston, Rather Be - Jess Glynne, Ain't Nobody - Chaka Khan, Call Me Al - Paul Simon and many, many more. If you've got a big venue to fill, a large number of guests to entertain or just want to hear one of these keys-heavy songs, the 5-piece is for you!

Can i choose songs for the band to play?

We invite our clients to choose a few songs from our repertoire list, and then we will plan the rest of the set around your choices. We usually try to include a mixture of old and new songs from a variety of genres to ensure there’s something for everyone. We’re very experienced in choosing the best songs to get your guests on the dance floor, but if you have a favourite genre or era of music, please let us know when you book and we will do our best to plan our set accordingly.

Can i request a song for my first dance?

Yes, we are always happy to learn a special request for your first dance. We ask for 6 weeks notice, and all requests are subject to suitability for our line up. Alternatively, we can play the original track for you through our PA system.

Do I need to provide food and drink for the band?

If we are with you for over 4 hours, we do ask that you provide us with a main meal. On the day of an event, we can be away from home for anything between 8 and 12 hours at a time, so a meal is very much appreciated! Feeding the band is also a great way of ensuring we’re feeling full of energy and ready to give an outstanding performance for your guests. We will also need a supply of water and soft drinks throughout the evening.
